Our Freedom in Christ - Part 1

Freedom in Christ frees us from religious practices unrelated to salvation

Galatians 5:1 Christ having made us gloriously free—stand fast and do not again be hampered with the yoke of slavery.

They were essentially restatements of three of the Noachian Laws that pertain to Gentiles.

The Apostle’s commands to the Gentiles were basically:

1) Not to worship idols
5) Not to commit adultery
7) Not to eat blood from strangled animals—probably a method of idol sacrifices

These commands were frequently violated in the Roman Empire.

Note that the commands that were in common every use in the Roman Empire were not mentioned:

2) Not to blaspheme the name of God – remember Paul was accused of blaspheming Dianna
3) To establish courts of justice – these were prevalent throughout the Empire
4) Not to kill – every civilized society recognizes this
6) Not to rob – again, thievery is outlawed in every civilized society.

Thus, the laws the Jewish Apostles indicated were required of Gentiles were the Noachian Laws. There were no religious requirements. No holy days. No religious rituals.
